Our School Community

History

Heywood Consolidated School derives its name from the consolidation of ten primary schools in the 1950’s from the communities of Heywood, Condah, Breakaway Creek, Heathmere, Hotspur, Homerton, Myamyn, Drumborg, Mount Eckersley and Whittlebury (Lake Condah).  The consolidation meant that students would benefit from facilities such as libraries, art rooms, canteens and sports facilities that did not exist in the smaller rural schools.

While set in spacious attractive grounds, the original relocated buildings deteriorated over time and the planning and design of a new complex was begun.  The new facility opened in December 1995 and the school has since enjoyed the addition of a sports stadium, adventure playground and multi-purpose facility.

The school is also a hub for community activities with multiple sporting groups using our facilities at various times throughout the year.

Student Representative Council

SRC is ran and organised by our School Captains Lewis and Pyper. Our School Captains chair, coordinate and manage the events by working with the representatives.

Each term, we aim to organise two different events to raise funds for either our school, our community or charities. Student nominate to be one of two representatives from each class. The entire class get to vote on the nominations. We aim to develop and share skills across the entire school and allow students to feel pride in their achievements.
